This Privacy Policy explains how CC Peek handles information when you use the CC Peek macOS and iOS applications and the CC Peek website.
Summary
- CC Peek does not require an account.
- CC Peek does not collect your name, email address, phone number, postal address, contacts, photos, precise GPS location, social media profile information, or advertising identifiers through the application.
- CC Peek does not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, remarketing services, or social login providers.
- The macOS app and iOS app communicate directly over your local network using Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework.
- Application data is stored locally on your devices unless you choose to contact us for support.
Definitions
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
- Application means CC Peek, including the macOS app, iOS app, and related local components.
- Company, we, us, or our means CC Peek.
- Service means the Application and the CC Peek website.
- Personal Data means information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
- You means the individual using the Service.
Information Handled by the Application
Claude Code hook event metadata
The macOS app can receive metadata from Claude Code hook events and write it to a local file on your Mac.
- Local path:
~/Library/Application Support/cc-peek/events.jsonl - Examples: process ID, status timestamps, tool event type, tool name, and terminal type.
- Not included: conversation content, source code content, file content, and detailed command arguments.
- Storage: stored locally on your Mac and not uploaded to our servers.
Process and terminal metadata
To help identify and switch between Claude Code sessions, CC Peek may process local macOS process information such as process name, process ID, parent process information, controlling terminal, and terminal application type. This information is processed locally and may be sent over the local network to your paired iPhone for display.
Paired device information
When you pair your Mac and iPhone, CC Peek stores information needed to recognize trusted paired devices, such as the paired device name and pairing identifiers.
- On macOS, paired device information may be stored in local app preferences or the system Keychain.
- On iOS, paired device information may be stored in the system Keychain or local app storage.
- This information is used only to recognize trusted paired devices and prevent unexpected devices from connecting.
Local network discovery
CC Peek uses Apple's MultipeerConnectivity and Bonjour technologies for local device discovery and communication. When discovery is active, your device name may be visible to nearby devices on the same local network as part of Apple's standard local-network discovery behavior. CC Peek does not send this discovery information to our remote servers.
Website and Update Check Logs
When you visit the CC Peek website or when the macOS app checks for updates, our web server or hosting provider may process standard HTTP access logs.
- Examples: IP address, user agent, request URL, access time, and basic request metadata.
- Purpose: website operation, update delivery, security monitoring, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention.
- Retention: access logs are retained for up to 30 days unless a longer period is required for security investigation or legal compliance.
Support Communications
If you contact us by email, we will receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message content, and any diagnostic details you include. We use this information only to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, and maintain the Service.
How We Use Information
We use the information described in this Privacy Policy only for the following purposes:
- To provide the local Mac-to-iPhone status display and terminal switching features.
- To pair trusted devices and maintain your local preferences.
- To check for and deliver application updates.
- To operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website and update infrastructure.
- To respond to support requests that you send to us.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the Service.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell or rent Personal Data.
- We do not use Personal Data for advertising or remarketing.
- We do not use Google Analytics, PostHog, Mixpanel, Firebase Analytics, advertising SDKs, or similar analytics tools in the Application.
- We do not provide public user profiles, public posting areas, or social features inside the Application.
- We do not collect payment information through the Application.
Sharing of Information
We do not share Personal Data with advertisers, marketing partners, social networks, or unrelated business partners. We may disclose limited information only in the following situations:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers: website and update-check logs may be processed by our hosting provider to operate the website and update infrastructure.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.
- Safety and security: we may disclose information where necessary to investigate abuse, security incidents, or protect the rights and safety of users or the Service.
- With your consent: we may share information if you explicitly ask us to do so or give us permission.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Local application data: hook event metadata, diagnostic logs, preferences, and pairing data remain on your local devices until you delete them, unpair devices, uninstall the app, or use the app's cleanup options.
- Website and update logs: retained for up to 30 days unless a longer period is necessary for security investigation or legal compliance.
- Support emails: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, maintain support history, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations.
Because most CC Peek data is stored locally on your own devices, you can delete it directly from those devices. On macOS, you can remove local app data from ~/Library/Application Support/cc-peek/ or use the cleanup option provided by the app. On iOS, deleting the app removes local app data associated with CC Peek, subject to the normal behavior of iOS and iCloud backups.
International Transfers
CC Peek does not operate a remote application backend for user accounts or application telemetry. Website hosting, update checks, and support email processing may involve infrastructure located outside your country or region. Where applicable, we rely on appropriate safeguards required by data protection law.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of Personal Data that we hold about you. Because CC Peek primarily stores application data locally on your devices, many deletion and access actions can be performed directly on your device. If you have contacted us for support or believe we hold Personal Data about you, you can contact us at the email address below.
Security
We design CC Peek to minimize remote data collection. Local communication between your Mac and iPhone uses Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use reasonable measures appropriate to the limited data we process.
Children's Privacy
CC Peek is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we make changes.
